A continuous portrait

He calls me Asja Testino, I call him Fernando Gabbana in this series. We met 1998 in a shopping center in Brazil. He was with his boy scouts, I was with my exchange student friends, we both were 17. Despite continents and oceans in between and despite being so fundamentally different our friendship hasn’t stopped since.

Fernando loves fashion. He is vain, he knows what he wants and he has no problem to be the center of attention. And he doesn’t hide it. He doesn’t hide many things in general as he feels why should he? His attitude has brought him crazy far in life.

This series is a collection of photographs taken over the years in several experimental shootings of my extraordinary friend Fernando who some day in his early childhood decided that the limits of his experiences in life were to be defined by his own imagination and nothing else.
